Dr. Valentina Emila Balas

Dr. Valentina E. Balas is currently Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is author of more than 350 research papers. Her research interests are in Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing. She is the Editor-in Chief to IJAIP and to IJCSysE, and is evaluator expert for national, international projects. Dr. Balas is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and Director of the Department of International Relations. She served as General Chair of SOFA conferences in nine editions organized in the interval 2005-2020 and held in Romania and Hungary. Dr. Balas participated in many international conferences as Organizer, Honorary Chair, Session Chair, member in Steering, Advisory or International Program Committees and Keynote Speaker. She is a member of EUSFLAT, member of SIAM and a Senior Member IEEE, member in TC Fuzzy Systems (IEEE CIS), chair of the Task Force 14 in TC Emergent Technologies (IEEE CIS), member in TC Soft Computing (IEEE SMCS). Dr. Balas was past Vice-president ( Awards) of IFSA -(2013-2015), is a Joint Secretary of the Governing Council of Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics, and recipient of the “Tudor Tanasescu” Prize from the Romanian Academy (2019).

Dr. Sanjeevikumar Padmanaban (Member’12–Senior Member’15, IEEE) received a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy 2012. He is a Full Professor in Electrical Power Engineering with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, and Cybernetics, University of South-Eastern Norway, Norway. S. Padmanaban has authored over 750+ scientific papers and received the Best Paper cum Most Excellence Research Paper Award from IET-SEISCON’13, IET-CEAT’16, IEEE-EECSI’19, IEEE-CENCON’19, and five best paper awards from ETAEERE’16 sponsored Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering, Springer book. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India, the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, India, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, U.K. He received a lifetime achievement award from Marquis Who’s Who – USA 2017 for contributing to power electronics and renewable energy research. He is listed among the world’s top 2 scientists (from 2019) by Stanford University USA. He is an Editor/Associate Editor/Editorial Board for refereed journals, in particular the IEEE SYSTEMS JOURNAL, IEEE Transaction on Industry Applications, IEEE ACCESS, IET Power Electronics, IET Electronics Letters, and Wiley-International Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, Subject Editorial Board Member—Energy Sources—Energies Journal, MDPI, and the Subject Editor for the IET Renewable Power Generation, IET Generation, Transmission and Distribution, and FACETS Journal (Canada).

Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal

Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal is an Associate Professor (Senior Grade) at South Asian University New Delhi and Visiting Faculty at Maths and Computer Science, Liverpool Hope University UK. Dr. Bansal obtained his Ph.D. in Mathematics from IIT Roorkee. Before joining SAU New Delhi he worked as an Assistant Professor at ABV- Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Gwalior and BITS Pilani. His Primary area of interest is Swarm Intelligence and Nature Inspired Optimization Techniques. Recently, he proposed a fission-fusion social structure based optimization algorithm, Spider Monkey Optimization (SMO), which is being applied to various problems in the engineering domain. He has published more than 70 research papers in various international journals/conferences. He is the Section Editor (editor-in-chief) of the journal MethodsX published by Elsevier. He is the series editor of the book series Algorithms for Intelligent Systems (AIS), Studies in Autonomic, Data-driven and Industrial Computing (SADIC), and Innovations in Sustainable Technologies and Computing (ISTC) published by Springer. He is also the Associate Editor of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (EAAI) and ARRAY published by Elsevier. He is the general secretary of the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS). He has also received Gold Medal at UG and PG levels.

Dr. Swagatam Das

Dr. Swagatam Das received the B. E. Tel. E., M. E. Tel. E (Control Engineering specialization) and Ph. D. degrees, all from Jadavpur University, India, in 2003, 2005, and 2009 respectively. Swagatam Das is currently a Professor and he served as the Head of Electronics and Communication Sciences Unit, ISI Kolkata between 2021 – 2023 of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. His research interests include evolutionary computing and machine learning. Dr. Das has published more than 400 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He is the founding co-editor-in-chief of Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, an international journal from Elsevier. He has also served as or is serving as the associate editors of the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, Pattern Recognition (Elsevier), Neurocomputing (Elsevier), Information Sciences (Elsevier), IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems, and so on. He is an editorial board member of Information Fusion (Elsevier), Progress in Artificial Intelligence (Springer), Applied Soft Computing (Elsevier), Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence (Elsevier), and Artificial Intelligence Review (Springer). Dr. Das has 28,500+ Google Scholar citations and an H-index of 79 till date. He has been associated with the international program committees and organizing committees of several reputed international conferences including NeurIPS, AAAI, AISTATS, ACM Multimedia, BMVC, IEEE CEC, GECCO, etc. He has acted as guest editors for special issues in journals like IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation and IEEE Transactions on SMC, Part C. He is the recipient of the 2012 Young Engineer Award from the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE). He is also the recipient of the 2015 Thomson Reuters Research Excellence India Citation Award as the highest cited researcher from India in Engineering and Computer Science category between 2010 to 2014.

Prior to join IGNOU, he worked as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (HP) from 2019-2022, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT), Gorakhpur (UP) from 2016-2019 and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida (UP) from 2005-2016. He has more than 22 Years of teaching and research experience. He did his PDF from University of Carlos-III, Madrid (Spain) in 2011-12, PhD (CSE) in 2010, M.Tech. (IT) from IIIT Allahabad in 2005 and B.Tech. (CSE) from IET Lucknow in 1999. He supervised 8 PhD theses, 31 M.Tech. dissertations and published more than 125 research articles in international journals and conference proceedings of repute. He is a Senior Member, IEEE and ACM, His area of research includes Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, NLP, Soft-computing etc.

He has worked at Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University Kota, and Government Engineering College Jhalawar. Hereceived his B.Tech and M.Tech degree in Computer Engg. from Govt. Engineering College, Kota and Rajasthan Technical University, Kota in 2003 and 2009 respectively.He obtained his Ph.D. from ABV – Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, India. He is secretary and one of the founder member of Soft Computing Research Society ofIndia. He is a life time member of Cryptology Research Society of India, ISI, Kolkata. Heis an Associate Editor of “International Journal of Swarm Intelligence (IJSI)” publishedby Inderscience. He has also edited special issues of the journals “Memetic Computing”and “Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Artificial Intelligence”. His primary area ofinterest is nature inspired optimization techniques. He has contributed in more than 60 papers published in various international journals and conferences.

Dr. Anupam Yadav

Dr. Anupam Yadav is currently associated with Department of Mathematics, Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, India as an Assistant Professor. His research area includes numerical optimization, soft computing, and artificial intelligence, he has more than ten years of research experience in the areas of soft computing and optimization. Dr. Yadav has done a Ph.D. in soft computing from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and he had worked as a research professor at Korea University. He has published more than twenty-five research articles in journals of international repute, has published more than fifteen research articles in conference proceedings. Dr. Yadav has authored a textbook entitled “An introduction to neural network methods for differential equations. He has edited three books which are published by AISC, Springer Series. Dr. Yadav was the General Chair, Convener and member of the steering committee of several international conferences. He is a member of various research societies.
